Fantastic Book

I just finished reading "The Kite Runner" by Khaled Hosseini. If you're looking for a great read, the sort of novel that makes you long to get back to it and then keeps you up WAY longer at night than you intended, this is it. Here's a quote near the end that leaped out to me. (oh, and I'm still sniffling after having finished it about 15 minutes ago)

"Closing Sohrab's door, I wondered if that was how forgiveness budded, not with the fanfare of epiphany, but with pain gathering its things, packing up, and slipping away unannounced in the middle of the night."

It's a powerful story.

OK, that's just weird. I just finished reading the book about a half hour ago. Started it last night.

That book has actually recently moved up on my "To Read" list. You just gave me the inspiration to move it up all the way. Maybe I'll find some time to slip away to the library.

Jenny: You won't be disappointed! BTW, it was KB who read it first this summer, then JB during our mission trip. EVEN JB thinks it's amazing and if you recall, he's a tough one to please! hee hee!

Grace,
Thanks for the recommendation. I picked it up at the library a couple of weeks back then returned it unread. Just too many other projects at the moment. I'll return to it for sure now. Thanks.

Kevin,
It's such a great story....you just know it's "real" when you are reading it.

Grace, I do think sis would like it - it's just too bad she's always much too busy to read. Guess little kiddos'll do that to ya.
